Federal MP Luke Hartsuyker today supported a move to establish direct flights between the Coffs Coast and mining areas in Western Australia. Mr Hartsuyker was commenting on reports that management at Coffs Harbour Regional Airport were investigating the concept.
CARBON TAX
Julia Gillard's carbon tax is a huge threat to local businesses and jobs and to the standard of living of everyone on the Mid North Coast.
It represents a broken election promise by the Prime Minister, and it will increase the cost of everything we buy. At $9bn a year, it will be the biggest and most punitive carbon tax in the world.
It will mean a ten per cent hike in electricity bills and a nine per cent hike in gas bills in the first year alone. It will also mean higher marginal tax rates for low and middle income earners.
Despite that, it won't reduce emissions. That's why The Nationals are fighting the tax.
