Federal Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker said tonight’s Budget is a major disappointment for North Coast residents. “The devil is in the detail when it comes to additional funding for the Pacific Highway,” Mr Hartsuyker said. “Importantly, there is no additional funding in the next financial year to accelerate work on the highway.

Independent Tony Windsor must justify why he continues to prop up the Gillard Government after it became embroiled in another scandal, Federal MP Luke Hartsuyker said today.
CARBON TAX
Julia Gillard's carbon tax is a huge threat to local businesses and jobs and to the standard of living of everyone on the Mid North Coast.
It represents a broken election promise by the Prime Minister, and it will increase the cost of everything we buy. At $9bn a year, it will be the biggest and most punitive carbon tax in the world.
It will mean a ten per cent hike in electricity bills and a nine per cent hike in gas bills in the first year alone. It will also mean higher marginal tax rates for low and middle income earners.
Despite that, it won't reduce emissions. That's why The Nationals are fighting the tax.
