Certificates of Appreciation are available in respect of the following conflicts and events:

  • World War II - for service in the Australian armed forces or on the home front
  • British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) Japan
  • Korean War
  • Malayan Emergency
  • Indonesian Confrontation
  • Vietnam War
  • Gulf War
  • Peace Operations

For World War II, the service may be overseas or on the home front. For all other events, the service must be overseas in the area of the particular conflict. The service may be as a member of the armed forces or as a civilian in support of Australia’s efforts in the conflict. Definitions of Peace Operations may be found at: http://www.defence.gov.au/adfwc/peacekeeping/terminology.htm
