An upgrade to Eungai Public School has been officially opened at a special ceremony held at the school last Monday.

More than $139,000 was granted to the school by the previous Coalition Government enabling them install new air conditioners and upgrade outside areas and play equipment.

The Nationals’ Federal Member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker, who attended the opening, said the funds had been committed from the previous government’s Investing in our Schools programme.

“Investing in Our Schools programme was a wonderful programme because it provided up-to-date facilities at every school in the country, not just the big ones,” Mr Hartsuyker said.

“The beauty of the Investing in our Schools programme is that all these projects have been identified by the schools themselves.

“Such projects, though desperately needed by our schools, have never seemed to make it on to the State Government priority lists.

“I would like to congratulate all the staff, students and parents on successfully upgrading the school amenity.”
