North Coast residents will be hardest hit by increases in their electricity bills as result of Kevin Rudd’s proposed Emission Trading Scheme, with the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) forecasting price increases of 62 per cent for Country Energy customers.

Rudd must address injustice of denying one-off cash payments to Coffs Coast flood victims

Kevin Rudd must show true leadership - acknowledge his government has made a mistake - and deliver one-off cash payments to Coffs Coast residents affected by the March 31 floods, Federal MP Luke Hartsuyker said today. Rudd Government turns its back on youth mental health services on North Coast

The Rudd Government is turning its back on youth mental health services on the North Coast with the local Headspace initiative set to close, Federal MP Luke Hartsuyker said today. Headspace, which provides mental health services for youth in Coffs Harbour, the Nambucca Valley and Bellingen shire, has been advised their funding will be slashed after June 30.

Federal MP Luke Hartsuyker last night tabled a petition which calls the Rudd Government to provide one off cash grants to those affected by the March 31 floods.  The petition, which was tabled in the Federal parliament last night, had more than 6,000 signatures.
